NFL the Passing of the Torch from Manning to Newton

The NFL's Super Bowl 50 is days away and yet one can't help but think that with this game, we will be seeing the last of no doubt what will be a future Hall of Fame in QB Peyton Manning.  In what I and many others think as well, this will be Manning's last hurrah.  Peyton Manning came into the NFL in 1998 with lots of accolades and was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts to be their start QB and lead the team for years to come. He didn't disappoint as he was thrown to the wolves in his first season and learned quickly what it took to be a top QB in the NFL. He played 14 seasons for the Colts before he was badly  injured and sat out a bit before returning to lead the Denver Broncos. In another year in which he was hurt for part of the season, Manning has played just good enough to lead the Broncos into the Super Bowl against the Carolina Panthers and their MVP QB in Cam Newton. No one is going to argue that Manning is just a mere image of the QB he once was but He is cunning and smart and understand football like no other QB has for a long time. His arm strength is gone but you can't count him out when a game is on the line. Most would agree that they would love to see Manning go out on a high note of winning Super Bowl 50. This will be a tall task for him, for in his way are the Carolina Panthers and their QB Cam Newton. Some are saying this will be a brutal game, for the Broncos OL had a hard time keeping Manning up right in the AFC Championship Game against the Patriots and the DL and front 7 of the Panthers is allot better than that of the Patriots. Many sport pundits and fans alike think this will be a bad game for Manning and another blowout for the Panthers. If anything over the years has shown us is that Peyton Manning is a great QB and can overcome adversity and a willingness to win games he has no chance of winning. Either way if this is Peyton Manning's last game, I hope it is one that will be remembered for years to come. A few stats from Manning's incredible career going into Super Bowl 50, 539 TD's passing, almost 72,000 passing yards, a 96.5 QBR and a Super Bowl Ring.
With that being said, it is time to pass the Elite QB Torch from an all time great veteran in the NFL, Mr. Peyton Manning, to the new prototypical QB of the future, Mr. Cam Newton.  The Carolina Panthers drafted Cam Newton is 2011 to be the future QB for them. He had his ups and downs early on but slowly emerged this year into the model QB that NFL teams will look at when they draft a QB to lead their franchises going forward. Cam Newton is 6'5" and 245 lbs and is a bonafide running threat on every offensive play. Between his running and passing, he poses a major threat to every defense he plays. He is a big and fast QB with a very strong arm who is just starting to emerge among the top NFL QB's. There is no doubt he is the NFL MVP this year and very well could also be the MVP of Super Bowl 50. Critics are fast to point out his flashiness and the way he celebrates or gives a ball to young fans in the stands after a TD. But in today's NFL, who doesn't show boat after a TD or an outstanding play anymore? Cam Newton has a very special and unique skill set that makes it tough for opposing teams to figure out a way to stop him. He is still a young QB at the age of 26 and barring a bad injury will be around for many more years to lead a new style of QB's in the NFL. I have given Mr. Cam Newton a new nickname which I thinks fits him very well. I call him, BeastGoat, for He is type of player that is a leader, a team player, a player with the arm and legs to beat you, understands the offense and defense and no opposing teams want to play against. He is the MVP of the NFL this year in my opinion.
So as sad as it may be to see Peyton Manning play in his last game, it is also very exciting to see that Cam Newton is the new style type QB that should make the NFL entertaining to watch and enjoy for years to come.  @cupofjoeinthed
